FAQ

In addition to the final purchase price paid to the seller, buyers pay a 5% commission to AutosSpot. The buyer’s fee has a minimum of €500 and a maximum of €5000.

To register, you first need to create an account by clicking the “Sign In” icon in the upper right corner of the screen, then select “Create Account” in the pop-up window.

If you’re not ready to register yet, no worries — you can do it later. Once you find a car you’d like to bid on, click “Place Bid” on the car’s detail page, and you’ll be prompted to register before placing your bid.

You’ll need to enter your credit card information in case your bid ends up being the highest.

Placing your first bid is simple once you complete the initial setup. Just follow these steps:

  1. Create your account (it’s free).

  2. Verify your identity when prompted.

  3. Add a payment card under Account → Settings → Payment Methods.
This is required to confirm your identity and verify available funds.

  4. Read and accept the buying terms.

  5. Go to the auction you’re interested in and enter your bid.

Once your setup is complete, you can bid instantly on any auction.
Remember: all bids are binding, and if you win, you are committing to the purchase.

To place a bid, you first need to register, as explained above. Once registered and you find a car you’re interested in, placing a bid is simple: just click the “Place Bid” button on the vehicle’s listing page. Then, you’ll be prompted to enter your bid amount.

Your bid must, of course, be higher than the previous one, and depending on the current bid level, there may be a minimum increment required over the previous bid.

The only way to make the payment is directly to the seller. We recommend using bank transfers on the day the vehicle is collected, although other options are also available. Make sure to communicate with the seller in advance to agree on the timing and ensure both parties are aligned with the process.

Listing a car on AutosSpot is completely free, and sellers receive 100% of the final sale price.

To list your car for sale, go to the “Submit a New Car” link in your profile dropdown menu once you’re registered. To sell your car, you’ll need to provide us with important information such as the make, model, year, VIN (Vehicle Identification Number), some photos, and other relevant details.

If we’re interested in selling your car, we’ll get in touch with you. Then, we’ll ask you to answer a set of more detailed questions to ensure that the auction description is accurate.

All auctions last seven days. However, the exact duration may vary. This is because during the final minute of the auction, each new bid resets the auction clock back to one minute remaining. This simulates a traditional auction, where bidding continues until participants stop placing bids — unlike some online auctions that end at a fixed time and favor last-second bids.

Yes, we offer sellers the option of either a “reserve” auction or a “no reserve” auction. A reserve is the minimum price the seller is willing to accept for a car, which is not disclosed to buyers during the auction. A no-reserve auction has no minimum price, meaning the car will sell for the highest bid received.

If you choose a reserve auction, we’ll ask you to suggest a reserve price, although we may request a lower amount before approving the car for listing. If we can’t reach an agreement on the reserve price, no problem — you’re, of course, free to sell your car elsewhere.

Once the auction ends, completing the transaction is the responsibility of both the buyer and the seller. AutosSpot provides both parties with each other’s contact information so they can finalize the transaction and arrange the vehicle pickup.

It’s very rare for a winning bidder not to complete the purchase on AutosSpot. In the unlikely event that this happens, the winner will forfeit their 4.5% buyer’s fee and will be permanently banned from AutosSpot.
